Introduction

Welcome to Note Pad Pro. We are committed to providing a secure, simple, and privacy-focused note-taking experience. This app follows a local-first approach, which means your notes are stored on your device and remain under your control.

Permissions We Request

To provide advanced features, the app requires specific permissions. We only request these when you use the respective feature:

  • Photos / Media Access: The app allows users to select images from their device gallery for features such as text extraction or image-based tools. Images are processed locally on the device and are never uploaded to any server.
  • Display Over Other Apps (Overlay): Used exclusively for the optional Floating Note feature, allowing you to view or edit notes while using other apps.
  • Storage / Media: Used to export notes as PDF, save backup files (JSON), and store shared images on your device. We do not access unrelated files.
  • Biometric / Fingerprint: Used only to authenticate access to the app. Biometric data is handled securely by the Android system and is never stored or accessed by us.
  • Notifications: Used for note reminders and optional sticky notifications. You can disable notifications anytime from system settings.

Data & Storage

  • Local Database: All notes, passwords, and hidden data are stored in an encrypted SQLite database inside your phone.
  • No Cloud Sync: We do not have access to your notes. We do not upload your content to any cloud server.
  • Manual Backup: The app allows you to manually create backup files that you may choose to store locally or upload to services like Google Drive. We do not manage or access these backups.

Third-Party Services

The free version of the app may display advertisements to support development.

  • Start.io: Used to show ads. Data collection, if any, is governed by Start.io’s own privacy policy.
  • External Tools: Features like "Cloud Tools" may open external websites (e.g., ChatGPT) inside a secure browser. These sites are governed by their own privacy policies.

Security

We use built-in Android security features such as Biometric Authentication and local data protection mechanisms. However, overall security also depends on your device settings and screen lock configuration.
